Sanitation Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sanitation Technician is part of our team whose duties are to clean and sanitize the harvesting equipment, tools, and facilities and general facility cleanliness. To perform the Sanitation Technician position successfully an individual must perform the duties of this job satisfactorily at a sustained level of productivity by executing all primary and secondary job functions - all while complying with the company HACCP and food safety plans, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), strict biosecurity measures, and standard operating procedures. The sanitation technician must be able to work as a team along with other members of the team, under stressful conditions, and be flexible and willing to perform varying tasks per management instructions and in accordance with all safety guidelines mandated by the company.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

• Experience: Prior sanitation experience, preferred.

• Licenses or Certifications: Driver’s license

POSITION DETAILS

Job Functions

• Complete all assigned tasks as required on the master sanitation schedule.

• Operate equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, pallet jacks and cardboard crushers in the course of sanitation duties. 

• Utilize cleaning and sanitizing tools to maintain sanitary conditions in harvest and processing areas by following established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).

• Comply with company bio-security plans, occupational and food safety requirements, quality assurance standards (GMP, HACCP, FSI, SQF, etc.), and standard operating procedures related to all sanitation tasks.

• Prevent cross contamination of product, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.  

• Conduct daily uniform laundering and stage for next work shift. 

• Complete all sanitation and required SQF documentation.

• Safe and proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment, which includes using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and assisting with the identification and reporting of safety, area, and equipment issues requiring non-routine attention.

• Perform other housekeeping and/or janitorial tasks, including trash/waste removal, headhouse and/or greenhouse cleaning.
