POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics operations to ensure the timely and accurate movement of materials throughout the facility. Responsibilities include loading and unloading shipments, processing shipping and receiving documentation, conducting quality checks, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating with carriers, and supporting material flow to production areas.

The role also maintains organized warehouse storage, follows FIFO inventory practices, resolves shipping-related issues, performs inventory counts and reconciliations, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment while ensuring accurate data entry and recordkeeping.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:

    • High School Diploma, required

  • Experience:

    • Shipping & Receiving, Warehousing & Material Movement

    • Forklift operation

    • Prior experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics role preferred; experience in feed, agriculture, or food/production environments a plus

  • Licenses or Certifications:

    • Driver’s License

    • Ability to obtain internal Forklift, Telehandler and Electric Pallet Jack certification

Job Functions

  1. Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate powered industrial equipment; verify quantities and condition of arriving materials against shipping/receiving documentation and loading processes following all appropriate procedures.

  2. Receive and log all incoming packages; prepare outbound packages for shipment.

  3. Receive and stock all consumables and parts, entering all transactions into the appropriate databases.

  4. Ensure all consumable operating supplies are regularly inventoried and re-ordered including feed, chemicals, and equipment parts, reconciling counts against database records.

  5. Order shipping materials (pallets, packaging, labels, etc.) and maintain organized on-site storage of these supplies.

  6. Prepare, review, and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) for all incoming and outgoing shipments.

  7. Perform quality control checks on incoming feed shipments and accurately enter results into database.

  8. Communicate and coordinate with carriers to arrange inbound and outbound trucking.

  9. Address and resolve shipping quality complaints; document issues and perform corrective actions as needed.

  10. Apply First In, First Out (FIFO) principles to all inventory rotation and stock management.

  11. Move feed and other materials from the warehouse to production areas as needed, maintaining an active, accurate log in the database.

  12. Safely operate and perform routine maintenance on fork trucks and pallet jacks.

  13. Ensure all materials and shipping goods meet SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards and site compliance requirements.

  14. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace throughout the warehouse and dock areas.

  15. Optimize warehousing storage solutions and inventory control to ensure efficiency of all space and on hand materials.

  16. Perform waste management duties, including proper sorting, storage, and disposal following site procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Safety operation of powered industrial vehicles

  • Familiarity with SQF or similar food/feed safety quality programs preferred
